The process of using manual method to keep record and track of turnaround maintenance has led to omission of many records that ought to be included, and also the degradation of factory equipment and machinery. This is caused by inaccuracy of the manual process.
Due to the inefficiency of the manual process, maintenance is carried out when the machinery breaks down, thereby delaying the production and reducing daily requirement to be met.
The objectives of a TURNAROUND MAINTENANCE INFORMATION SYSTEM, is to provide a set of computerized procedure to ensure that machinery are being maintained when due and also helps the company in taking effective decision on when maintenance is appropriate and necessary to be done. It also helps in the reliability effectiveness of factory machine and increased production rate, reduces equipment downtime, the number of repairs, requires less standby equipment and prolong longer equipment life.
The scope of this study is centered on a turnaround maintenance information system for easy identification and reminder of when maintenance is due and ought to be carried out.
